Acupuncture Iowa City — Clinic Eight
Licensed Acupuncturist
Rob Weingeist is an Iowa City native, and graduate of City High. He attended The University of Puget Sound for his Bachelors degree, and played #1 on the varsity tennis team. He completed a 4 year post-graduate Master’s degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine at Chicago’s Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. Rob moved to Cambridge, Massachusetts to begin his acupuncture practice and study Pin Sun Wing Chun Kung Fu and Yang Shen Qigong Meditation with Sifu Jim Roselando. Sifu Jim, Rob, and his younger brother David founded the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Qigong Club. Rob also became a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant and assisted internationally respected ophthalmologic surgeons at Tufts, Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston, and Harvard Vanguard Visual Services.
In addition to being recognized by the NCCAOM as an acupuncturist and practitioner of Chinese herbal medicine, Rob moved back to Iowa City in 2014 and is licensed by the Iowa Board of Medicine to practice acupuncture. With his experience in western medical practices (and growing up in a family of ophthalmologists), Rob believes an integrative approach to healing is often most effective. He is the founder of Clinic-Eight in downtown Iowa City.
