Emily Kappelman is a licensed acupuncturist through the Iowa Board of Medicine and a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, Minnesota, with a Masters in Chinese Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Emily traveled to Tianjin, China, for advanced studies in stroke rehabilitation, women’s health and pediatrics at The First Teaching Hospital of Tianjin University.
Emily specializes in acute and chronic pain relief, digestive and emotional issues, relieving anxiety and stress, improving sleep, and addressing women’s health concerns. She also provides post-operative and postpartum care through the use of acupuncture and herbs to quicken recovery. She has a special interest in improving the quality of life of her patients via acupuncture, herbs, food therapy, tui na and cupping. Emily also offers Facial Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) to help rejuvenate the skin of her patients. CIT stimulates the skin’s natural response to produce collagen and elastin, assisting in skin rejuvenation and battling the signs of aging.
Emily is native to Iowa, and loves that she is practicing in the Des Moines area. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Health Promotion: Wellness and Fitness from Grand View University in Des Moines, Iowa.
