David Mesenbrink

Eagle Peak Healing Arts

Licensed Acupuncturist and Dipl. NCCAOM

Eagle Peak Healing Arts | Acupuncture Cedar Falls Iowa

David Mesenbrink MSOM, Dipl. O.M., L.Ac. received his Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine in 2014 from Southwest Acupuncture College in Boulder, Colorado. David began his four years of graduate study at the American Academy of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Roseville, Minnesota. After two years of study, David transferred to and graduated from the top rated Southwest Acupuncture College. This degree consisted of 3,092 hours of study and clinical experience. In addition to studying with highly qualified professors from China and the US, David was fortunate to have met and continue his studies in Traditional Japanese Medicine (TJM) from Edward Obaidey. David had a profound opportunity for two years to study in the clinic of Chris LaRosa in Boulder, Colorado. During this time David learned the nuances of TJM and gained a better clinical proficiency, which determined the direction and path that David continues practicing today. In his clinic, David’s treatments reflect the accumulated knowledge passed down by all his teachers infused with his own personal experiences and thus, a unique style is born.

It was after the first Acupuncture treatment that David received when he knew that this was the career for him. Not only did the treatment help to alleviate a back spasm he was seeking help for, he also discovered that the treatment was able to bring him to a place of stillness that nothing else had before. Additionally, it was the first time he had come face to face with seeing how every aspect of his being is a reflection of how his body is functioning as a whole and is an indicator of future health. Obvious as it may sound, this was a profound experience and this shift in understanding has lead him to deeply appreciate oriental medicine and east Asian philosophy.

In 2015 David and  his wife, Jennifer, their daughter, and their animal friends moved back to Cedar Falls to open their businesses and offer their quality services to the Cedar Valley. Jennifer is the owner of Animal Lighthouse (www.Animallighthouse.com). Both are honored to contribute in making this community a great place to live and work.
