East Asian Medicine
Licensed Acupuncturist and Dipl. NCCAOM
Cindy had been interested in healthcare her whole life and first tried East Asian medicine when her son was wheezing and she was looking for alternatives to build up his system to reduce the need for steroids. Several years later following a car accident Cindy became a patient herself. Inspired by the holistic approach of the medicine, working with the mind and body to create balance and heal itself, she decided to pursue it as an occupation.
Cindy is a graduate of the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in Chicago, where she earned a Masters of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine. She is Nationally Board Certified as both an acupuncturist and herbalist and licensed by the Iowa Board of Medicine. She is certified in Advanced Thai Massage by the Thai Bodywork School of Thai Massage in Evanston.
Prior to studying Asian Medicine, Cindy worked with SEIU for 20 years organizing low wage workers for social and economic justice and working with labor and community organizations to build a bigger social justice movement . Cindy received her B.A. from Beloit College where she studied Sociology, Women’s Studies and Environmental Studies.
Cindy grew up on a farm outside of Fairfax, and is excited to be returning to Iowa and her family farm.
